Vegetarian vs. Vegan

Just a short word.
I have no problem at all with vegetarians. I always have vegetarian options on my menus, not vegan but vegetarian. My problem is when someone comes into the restaurant and looks at all the options and decides they don't like any of the 4-7 vegetarian options(not counting soup and salad) we have and wants something special.

Then on top of that they say that they are vegan, but they eat cheese.

Well, here it is.

Attention vegetarians--- you're not special! If you don't like the options we have I'm sorry but this is what we have.

Attention vegans--- If you don't know the difference between vegan and vegetarian don't bother to ask for vegan food! Vegans don't eat cheese!!!

  1. ha ha ha--that's great! i actually had a guy tell me the other night "yeah you haven't been here from the begining there used to be so many veg items on the menu, that was nice.." (by the way he ordered lamb) i went and grabbed a menu and counted off 7 fing vegetarian items for him...i don't usually care too much about comments like that but when people just complain for no good reason or talk without realizing that they are not in this business and don't really know shit i get a little bothered...and vegans are the worst by far...they love their 'organic' vegetables from mexico around here in the winter...makes no sense to me.

  2. How disappointing that you are so quick to catagorize a population based on your small exposure. Most, in fact, are quite wise to their diet preferences. I guess you are okay with your current number of clientel, which is fine and limiting. Statisticaly, it is those with the diet preference you so ridicule, that in the end, will have the last laugh.
